Friends gathered around Camp Torch at dusk

Some bring string lights.
Others bring the fire.

01 · The Product

The world's first modular
primal lighting system.

One torch. Three modes. Camp Torch transforms in seconds — its interlocking poles let you switch between modes, no tools required.

Beacon Mode
01 / BEACON

Beacon Mode

A 6-foot-4 torch throws firelight 60 feet in every direction — enough to cook and move after dark without a headlamp killing the atmosphere.

Campfire Mode
02 / CAMPFIRE

Campfire Mode

Low and central. Real flame warmth for the crew without a fire pit. The circle forms before you ask anyone to sit down.

Basecamp Mode
03 / BASECAMP

Basecamp Mode

Three torches run off one tank with one connection. No extra fuel, no extra setup — the whole camp on a single propane source.

Primal Lighting

String lights had a good run.
Bring the Fire.

The last camp light you'll ever buy.

Your LED lantern is not going to like this.

The most light you can pull out of a bag.

360° radiant light

Full flame throws a 60ft+ ring of primal firelight — enough reach to light the whole site after dark.

Anti-tip shutoff. Fire-ban safe.

If it tips, it shuts off. Instantly, every time. Burn-ban approved.

Packable Camp Torch beside its carry case

Packable design

Breaks down into the included 22×8 inch bag. Fits in the trunk or straps to the rack.

02 · Why Fire

400,000 years of human biology disagrees with your LED lantern.

Firelight triggers a neurological response no artificial source replicates. Camp Torch is built around it.

Cold. Flat. Engineered for visibility, not for people. LED light lets everyone see and nobody feel anything.

Built around the biology of gathering.

Firelight triggers a neurological response no artificial source replicates. Heart rate slows. Conversation deepens. People stay. Camp Torch is built around that response.

Burn-Ban Compliant

When wood fires get banned, yours stays lit.

Restrictions on open flame grow every year, and the season for a wood fire keeps shrinking. Camp Torch is built to pass where wood can't.

Stage 2 burn-ban compliant

The complete Camp Torch system. It includes:

  • Rugged carry case that fits everything you need
  • Silicone heat-resistant covers
  • Quick-connect propane regulator and hose
  • Handling gloves

Your questions,
answered.

That was our biggest concern as well. The answer is a resounding yes.

The Anti-Tip Shutoff kills the gas the moment it falls and the flame is out before the head hits the ground. Every unit is stability-tested. Tripod legs stake into the ground when you want it locked.

Standard propane connection, manual flame control, and sealed heat-resistant housing. Built to be left burning while you're elsewhere in camp.

In most places, yes — that's half the point. Camp Torch is Stage 2 fire-ban compliant: contained flame, no embers, instant anti-tip shutoff. When wood fires get banned for the season, this is the fire that's still allowed. Always check your local regulations before you light.
No. Propane burns clean. Nobody spends the night dodging the smoke seat, and your gear doesn't smell like a bonfire on Monday. No embers to shovel out in the morning, either. You keep the light and lose everything else.
Yes. Real flame radiates real heat. Campfire Mode brings the fire low and central, so the warmth lands where the circle is. Heat shields and other accessories that amplify the heat output are on the way.
Yes. Rain doesn't faze it — there's no wood to soak and no coals to drown. Wind moves the flame the way wind has always moved fire; it stays lit and keeps throwing light. And if anything ever knocks it over, the anti-tip shutoff kills the gas instantly.
Standard 20 lb propane tanks — the same ones at every hardware store, gas station, and grill shop. No proprietary fuel, no special orders. One tank runs 9 hours on high, 20+ on low: a full weekend of nights, then swap it anywhere.
Around 15 lb fully packed, in the included 22×8 inch bag. It slides behind a seat next to the cooler. The fire stops being the thing you leave home because it's too much hassle.
Yes. When you get home from the trip, it goes on the deck. One purchase covers every night outside. The tripod works great but we'll have patio and deck bases as available accessories.
Yes, in a pinch, you can definitely cook over it. And we have future accessories planned to make cooking over the fire even better.
ZERO plastic. 316 stainless, brass, and aircraft-grade aluminum — no electronics to die, no battery to babysit. Built to be the thing your kids argue over someday.
Because it puts the first production run in the hands of the people who want it most. Camp Torch is two years and six prototypes deep, proven on the river and in the backyard. Kickstarter funds the first manufacturing run. Backing early gets you the lowest pricing we will ever offer and a say in what comes next. It launches on Kickstarter September 29th; first units ship in February 2027. Reserving a launch invite is free and holds your place at the front of the line.
Full retail is $599. Kickstarter backers pay less, and VIPs get the lowest price we will ever offer. We could have built a $200 torch. We would not use one, and we do not buy landfill gear either. Some things you buy on what you trust them to do; nobody in this crew shops for the cheapest parachute. That is why the base is a three-foot tripod with Hirth-joint tips that micro-adjust each leg and drive into the ground. Every knob and fitting is steel, aluminum, or brass. A patent-pending quick-connect sets your height and takes every future accessory without tools. The flame is four feet tall and holds in wind that kills everything else in your truck, and if the torch ever goes over it shuts itself off. It lights your camp, heats your circle, and cooks your food at the same time. Nothing else out there does that. We camp in these forests too.

The pole system is modular by design, and it's a platform. New configurations and accessories are already in development — and the people who back the launch get a direct say in what ships next. Coming soon:

  • Patio and deck bases
  • Heat shields
  • Cooking accessories
  • And much more

Still deciding? A launch invite is free — it just holds your spot at the front of the line.
